Engineering Augmentation for Blaze, a Manufacturing ERP Platform

Tenafor joined Advaya Softech's engineering team as an augmentation partner to accelerate Blaze, a cloud manufacturing ERP for Indian SMEs — building core modules including Production Planning, QA, Inventory, Sales Order, and Purchase Management while strengthening engineering velocity.

Blaze ERP

The challenge

Advaya's in-house engineering team was building Blaze — a comprehensive manufacturing ERP spanning the full shop-floor-to-dispatch workflow — but needed additional engineering capacity to build out core modules and keep pace with product roadmap demands. Several key modules central to the platform's value proposition didn't yet exist, and the team faced:

  • Limited engineering bandwidth to build new modules at the pace the roadmap required
  • Gaps in core manufacturing workflow coverage — including production planning, quality assurance, and inventory tracking — that customers needed for full end-to-end adoption
  • Inconsistent QA and testing practices, increasing the risk of production issues after release
  • System stability challenges, with downtime affecting manufacturer customers relying on Blaze for daily operations

The solution

Tenafor embedded engineers directly into Advaya's existing team as an augmentation partner, working alongside their engineers rather than as a separate, siloed workstream. This let us move quickly on new module development while staying aligned with Advaya's existing architecture and product direction.

Module development:

  • Built out the Production Planning module, covering resource planning, shift scheduling, and real-time production monitoring
  • Developed the Quality Assurance module, including custom inspection templates and multi-stage quality checkpoints
  • Built the Inventory Management module for real-time stock visibility and movement tracking
  • Delivered the Enquiry, Sales Order, and Purchase Management modules, covering the front half of the platform's Sales-to-Dispatch workflow

Engineering process improvements:

  • Introduced stronger QA and testing gates ahead of release, catching issues earlier in the development cycle
  • Improved development practices and workflows that increased overall team throughput
  • Contributed to system reliability improvements that reduced platform downtime for end customers

The results

By augmenting Advaya's engineering team and raising the bar on testing rigor, Tenafor helped accelerate Blaze from a partially built platform to a full-featured manufacturing ERP:

  • 50% improvement in development time, allowing Advaya to ship core modules faster
  • Roughly 50% reduction in system downtime, improving reliability for manufacturer customers running daily operations on Blaze
  • Stronger QA and testing gates, resulting in measurably fewer production issues post-release
  • Delivery of six core modules — Production Planning, QA, Inventory, Enquiry, Sales Order, and Purchase Management — now part of Blaze's standard offering
